Our Mission:

Investing in you.

“Let’s life” is an initiative founded in 2018, for those between 16-21 years old, who in order to continue their study full time; need to relocate. Let’s Life started in the Bass Coast and is now operating in the Bass Coast and South Gippsland areas. This initiative builds independent skills, finds scholarships, helps participants adjust to student life and even provides accredited training to help participants find a job while studying.

The Program

“Let’s Life” is a program that includes multiple workshops to develop independent living skills, budgeting, finding scholarships and the customs of being a tertiary education student. In addition to workshops there will nationally accredited training to boost your resume. The program will also include trips to Melbourne to help navigate public transport and get an eye for the city lifestyle.

Six 3 hour workshops

Each workshop will be tailored to a specific topic. The topics will include things like how to live on a budget, finding suitable accommodation, navigating the life of a student, drugs, alcohol, parties and seeking a part time job.

In addition to these 6 core workshops, Let’s Life is introducing a series of elective workshops too!

Excursions to Melbourne

Hands on is the best way to learn. Let’s Life will be taking all participants to Melbourne to navigate and familiarise public transport options, while also participating in a range of workshops like cooking, exploring Melbourne and more.

nationally accredited training

Having some nationally accredited skills behind participants will help them succeed. This program will provide accredited training to achieve A Responsible Service of Alcohol, Safe Food Handling certificate, First Aid Level 1 and in 2019, Espresso coffee making to provide a real kick start!

In 2019, we’re also teaming up with industry leaders to deliver these accredited courses!

A network of peers

In 2019, participants will have access to a mentor, removing barriers to further education by getting to know like minded people. This extends to the participants getting to know each other and using tools like Facebook to share resources and provide support!

The Impact in 2018

Understanding there are some great local pathways, this is not always an option, particularly those in disciplines such as medical, engineering, sciences and law.
